Owners — Subscription tier + billing

Subscriptions have not launched yet. During the public test every guild runs at the Max tier for free, no quotas are enforced, and the #Treasury channel is hidden. This page describes how billing will work once it goes live.

AO Master has four subscription tiers — Free / Basic / Pro / Max — that raise quotas across the system (member count, log retention, locker count, etc.). Tiers are bought with Gold, AO Master's internal currency.

Personal Gold vs guild Treasury

Two related-but-distinct balances:

  • Personal Gold — yours, lives on your AO Master account. You buy Gold via Stripe (#My Gold channel under your home /channels/@me).
  • Guild Treasury — the pooled Gold members have deposited toward upgrading the guild. Lives on the #Treasury channel of each guild.

The flow: Personal GoldDeposit to guild Treasury → Upgrade the guild's tier.

Buying personal Gold

  1. Open /channels/@me#My Gold.
  2. Pick a Gold bundle (different sizes available, larger = better per-Gold rate).
  3. Pay via Stripe (credit card / Apple Pay / Google Pay).
  4. Gold lands instantly in your personal balance.

Personal Gold doesn't expire and isn't refundable.

Depositing to a guild

  1. In the guild, open #Treasury (under GUILD in the sidebar).
  2. Deposit Gold card → enter amount → confirm.
  3. Gold moves from your personal balance to the guild's Treasury pool.

Deposits are visible on the Treasury — every member can see the running total. Individual deposit history is in Settings → Audit Log (per-member donation transparency).

Upgrading a guild tier

On #TreasuryUpgrade Guild Tier section:

  1. Pick a target tier (Basic / Pro / Max).
  2. The card shows the Gold cost. Each tier lasts 30 days from activation.
  3. Click the tier card → Gold debits from the Treasury → tier activates immediately.
  4. Auto-renew when period ends toggle keeps the tier rolling automatically (deducting from the Treasury at the start of each new 30-day period).

Requires Manage Guild Billing permission. The action is audit-logged.

What tier gates

Two things scale with tier: numeric quotas (how many of X you can have) and which features are even available.

Quotas

The default quota matrix below matches a fresh guild on QuickStart Demo. The #Treasury page on your own guild is the authoritative source — open it to see your current tier's quotas vs the next tier's, since the live numbers can be tuned by the AO Master team.

Feature gates

Some systems aren't available at all on Free tier — they need at least Basic, and a couple of the heavier ones need Pro or Max. Defaults:

FeatureMinimum tier
Silver Bank, Siphon Bank, Item PriceBasic
ZvZ System (ZvZ Attendance)Basic
Enlist via DiscordBasic
Crafting Material PlannerBasic
ArmoryPro
Party Board (Schedule Event → multiple parties)Pro
Alliance (ally pipeline + Allies channel + CTA sign-ups)Pro
Reports — Advanced (extended date ranges + export)Max

A gated feature shows a small "Requires X tier or higher" hint with an Upgrade link wherever you'd otherwise toggle it on (Settings → Guild Systems, Settings → Discord Integration → Ally, Settings → Reports, the Crafting Material Planner page).

Downgrades + lapses

  • Auto-renew off + period ends — guild drops to the previous tier. Existing data stays read-only where it would exceed the lower tier's quota.
  • Manual downgrade — pick a lower tier from Treasury → debits Gold (each tier is independently billed). Data exceeding the new tier's quota goes read-only.
  • Free tier doesn't cost Gold — but it has the strictest quotas.

Downgrading never deletes data. It just hides what's over the quota; re-upgrading restores access.

Refund policy

Personal Gold isn't refundable. If you accidentally bought too much Gold or upgraded the wrong guild, the Gold stays in your personal balance / the guild's Treasury for the next purchase.
