Link an Albion character
Linking a character associates an Albion Online character name with your AO Master account. AO Master uses the link to:
- Credit silver-mode regear payouts to your character's Silver Bank balance (Silver mode — payout).
- Match ZvZ Attendance screenshots to your account (so attendance counts for you, not someone else with a similar name).
- Show your character name on the Members roster + per-request context.
- Resolve "this member won/lost gear in this fight" lookups for the regear pipeline.
Who can link
Any member can link their own character. Manage Members permission lets staff link / unlink on behalf of other members (e.g. for a member who's been kicked and you need to clean up their slot).
The link flow
- Open
#Members→ find your row → click for the per-member drawer. - 🔗 Link Character button → opens the link wizard.
- Type the character name; AO Master searches Albion Online's live API for matches.
- Pick the right character from the results (be careful — there can be multiple characters with the same name across regions; the picker shows region + guild membership to disambiguate).
- AO Master verifies the character belongs to a member of your AO Master guild's paired Albion guild (via the character's in-game guild record). If it matches, the link is committed.
After linking, the character name appears on your row + every regear / locker / attendance touchpoint.
Force-rename (when characters merge / rename in-game)
When you rename your Albion character in-game, the link breaks (it's keyed by the old name). To re-link:
- Re-run the link wizard with the new name.
- AO Master detects the historical character matches your previously-linked one and offers a Force-rename link — confirm to migrate the link.
- All your old data (silver balance, regear history, attendance) stays attached.
Unlinking
Click the character chip on your row → Unlink. Your balance, history, attendance stay on the character (just no longer associated with your account). Re-linking later restores access.
What happens to silver on unlink
The silver balance lives on the character, not on the AO Master account. Unlinking is non-destructive — the silver stays. But you can't request withdrawals from an unlinked character (the bank doesn't know who you are anymore). Re-link to regain control.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Character not found | Misspelled / fresh character not yet in Albion's API cache | Wait a few hours for Albion to index the character + retry. |
| Character belongs to another guild | The character is in a different Albion guild than the one this AO Master guild is paired to | You need to be in the paired guild first; ask staff to verify the pairing. |
| Character is already linked to another account | Someone else linked the same character | Contact AO Master support; only one account can own a character at a time. |
Linking your Discord account (separate, account-level)
Linking an Albion character is the in-guild action above. There's a separate, account-level action — linking your Discord account — that happens on User Settings → Connections (the gear icon next to your username, bottom-left).
If you signed in with Continue with Discord when you registered, your Discord account is already linked and the Connections card shows your live Discord profile: avatar, display name, @handle, and the date you linked. If you signed up with email + password, the card shows a Link Discord button instead — click it to walk through Discord's OAuth flow.
Why the Discord link matters:
- Discord ticket flows (Enlist, Ally) — bot recognises you when you click the
[Enlist]/[Apply as Ally]button. - Per-member Discord channel — when your guild's bot creates a private
🪪channel for you, it grants access via your linked Discord account. - Regear delivery notifications — the bot pings you in the host's Discord notification channel when your regear gets delivered (only if you're linked).
- Discord role sync — the bot adds / removes your Discord roles to mirror your AO Master role changes.
Unlinking the Discord account (same Connections card) removes the bot's ability to grant Discord roles or ping you on Discord. Your AO Master account is unaffected; you can still log in with email + password.
Cross-links
- Silver Bank — where the linked-character balance lives.
- Members — leave, kick, revive — what happens to links when a member leaves.
- #Members channel — where the Link button lives.
- Discord — Install + pair — the guild-side Discord integration that the per-member Discord link feeds into.
