Owners — Public profile + Custom URL
Every guild on AO Master has a public profile at /g/<id-or-name>. The page renders the widgets you've enabled on Settings → Public Profile — banner, About, Recent Kills, War Roles, Messages, etc.
The default URL uses the guild's long database ID. A Custom URL lets you replace that with a memorable short word — ao-master.com/g/minions reads better than ao-master.com/g/0a5b71d9-….
Permissions
Manage Guild to set, change, or release the Custom URL.
Setting a Custom URL
- Open the Settings → Guild Profile tab.
- In the Custom URL panel, type your preferred URL word (e.g.
minions). - Confirm in the panel.
Your guild is now reachable at /g/<your-name>. The original ID-based URL keeps working as a redirect.
URL rules
- 3-20 characters.
- Must start with a lowercase letter.
- After the first character: lowercase letters, digits, or hyphens.
- No consecutive hyphens, no trailing hyphen.
- Lowercased automatically (
MyGuildbecomesmyguild). - Globally unique across all of AO Master — first come, first served. If your preferred word is taken, the form will tell you.
- Free during the public test phase; you can change it every 24h.
You can change the Custom URL whenever you want. The old URL keeps working as a redirect for 30 days, then becomes available for other guilds to claim.
What visitors see
Anyone visiting /g/<your-name> sees the public Welcome page you configured. Visibility is gated by the Visibility dropdown on Settings → Public Profile:
- Public — listed on Guild Discovery — your guild also shows up on the Guild Discovery directory.
- Unlisted — accessible via link only — the page works for anyone with the URL but isn't browse-able from Discovery.
- Private — staff only — visitors get a "not found" response.
Share-friendly URLs
A Custom URL makes your guild link easy to drop in Discord, Reddit, Twitter, forums:
https://ao-master.com/g/minions— short + memorable.- Opens to the public Welcome page with banner + recruitment status + Discord invite (when configured).
Combined with Open for recruitment on Settings → Public Profile, the URL doubles as a recruitment landing — visitors see an Apply to join button at the top.
Cross-links
- Settings → Guild Profile — where the Custom URL field lives, alongside icon + display name + description.
- Settings → Public Profile — visibility, widgets, and the banner shown at
/g/<your-name>. - Guild Discovery — the browse directory that lists Public guilds.
