Owners — Public profile + vanity slug
Every guild on AO Master has a public profile at /g/<id-or-slug>. The page renders the widgets you've enabled on Settings → Public Profile — banner, About, Recent Kills, War Roles, Messages, etc.
The default URL uses the guild's database ID — long + ugly. A vanity slug lets you set a custom short URL.
Permissions
Manage Guild to set or change the vanity slug.
Setting a vanity slug
- Open the Settings → Public Profile tab.
- Vanity slug field — type your preferred slug (e.g.
minions). - Save.
Your guild is now reachable at /g/<your-slug>. The original ID-based URL keeps working as a redirect.
Slug rules
- 3-32 characters.
- Letters, numbers, hyphens only.
- Lowercased automatically (
MyGuildbecomesmyguild). - Globally unique across all of AO Master — first come, first served. If your preferred slug is taken, the form will tell you.
You can change the slug whenever you want. The old slug 410-redirects for 30 days, then becomes available for other guilds to claim.
What visitors see
Anyone visiting /g/<your-slug> sees the public Welcome page you configured. Visibility is gated by the Visibility dropdown on Settings → Public Profile:
- Public — listed on Guild Discovery — your guild also shows up on the Guild Discovery directory.
- Unlisted — accessible via link only — the page works for anyone with the URL but isn't browse-able from Discovery.
- Private — staff only — visitors get a "not found" response.
Share-friendly URLs
The vanity slug makes your URL easy to drop in Discord, Reddit, Twitter, forums:
https://ao-master.com/g/minions— short + memorable.- Opens to the public Welcome page with banner + recruitment status + Discord invite (when configured).
Combined with Open for recruitment on Settings → Public Profile, the URL doubles as a recruitment landing — visitors see an Apply to join button at the top.
Cross-links
- Settings → Public Profile — where the slug + visibility + widget config lives.
- Guild Discovery — the browse directory that lists Public guilds.
